The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

@_patmurray @a2 @Netlify @pridecodes Thanks for the kind words, Pat!

@a2 I ❤️ GH pages. It got me started on static site hosting. But @Netlify also runs your tests & build for any SSG*, and some other nice things.

@tomasdev I'm already onboard. But it's wise to be aware of the potential pitfalls if not done correctly.

Not only will @netlify generate a preview build, showing what your site will look like after a pull request is merged, but you can also get the link to that build automagically appear in the discussion about the PR. Here's how:

@marcysutton We chose not to wear gloves on account of how much fussing over the dogs we wanted to do. It was worth it.

And our lineup for the second #JAMstack London meetup is complete!

Join us on Monday 19th where @will_hancock of @akqa will show us how to use @algolia to bring search functionality to static sites.

@j1mc @Netlify Aha! I'm not surprised that things are case sensitive on the build bot... but a little surprised your previous code was problematic. Either way I'm glad you're all set now. Thanks for sharing your fix.

@j1mc @Netlify Odd. We don't do that. Is there perhaps any logic in the templates which generate that HTML? Could there possibly be a data source or a partial in your site generator which is not functioning as expected away from your local dev environment?

@MelTajon Great! FWIW, when build automation and triggers come into play, and the friction in deploying drops to almost zero, 'static' sites get to feel far more dynamic than was possible before.

(And building with @GoHugoIO is outrageously gratifying!)
