The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

โ€œF/E devs are now moving into B/E space with things like approachable functions & microservices.

...on the other hand, DevOps is building APIs instead of traditional monolithic backends. Two ends so far apart once upon a time, now meeting in the middleโ€

@brendandawes @chriscoyier @Netlify @ShopTalkShow Thanks Brendan! Yeah, the branch and preview builds (from pull requests) are rather lovely.

And if you just can't get enough of my silky smooth jazz voice, I talk a little more about some of this with @una and @chrisdhanaraj

I had really rather a lot of fun making this little URL shortener thing.

Made possible by the building blocks of Form Handling, Lambda Functions Build Automation and CDN redirect control in @Netlify.

@VamptVo @chriscoyier @Netlify @ShopTalkShow Oh, not at all! ๐Ÿ˜Š

The big *J* in #JAMstack can easily lead to that misconception. Some sites might be all cleint-side, but build automation and tools like those you can find at http://headlesscms.org, http://staticgen.com can help do lots of "dynamic" things at build time.

@VamptVo @chriscoyier @Netlify @ShopTalkShow Progressive enhancement is totally core to this. A #JAMstack site doesn't have to be an empty body tag and all your content and behavior injected via js. On the contrary, the current state of SSGs makes it easier than ever to create sites full of content which enhance with PE.

I made a little URL Shortener thing-a-mi-bob as way to experiment.
