The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

We live in a semi-detached house.
Our neighbours have young children..
Their eldest just brought home a descant recorder to learn.
I work from home.
This changes everything.

@sarah_edo @housecor @Netlify @vueconfus Yay!

...and apologies for accidentally bringing this conversation to "your house", @housecor (pun not intended, but enjoyed)

It's just that Sarah and I might be a little excited about the things we will eat in New Orleans.

A quick question for the @code users out there:

Are there keyboard shortcuts to toggle focus between your code panes and the embedded terminal pane? (which is 🔥🔥🔥 )

@housecor @Netlify Thanks! My jaw dropped when the team first showed me the developer experience. I've never had so much fun writing #serverless functions.

I rattled out this little example in no time.

@alexdbauer @andyshora @Netlify @GoHugoIO @gatsbyjs Yeah, that is also great!

FWIW I am also taking a look at @eleven_ty by @zachleat. Not yet as established as some others but perhaps the most intuitive SSG experience I've ever had. Possibly becoming my new crush!

A little more detail on how I used the #JAMstack with #serverless functions via @Netlify to make a URL Shortener you can host on your own domain.

@stefanhoth @DKundel @gatsbyjs @Netlify Yep, it's based on that same model, but while GHPages only supports Jekyll (without plugins), Netlify lets you use any SSG with whatever logic and code you like when the build runs.

Plus you get on-click https, instant rollbacks & other nice things.
