@rockerest They used cabaret style seating at @VueToronto and it worked really very well indeed. Better than I had expected as I tend to prefer theatre style too. This swayed me a bit. It does require a big room to work though.

@AndyDavies @HenriHelvetica @githubuniverse Agreed. Staging in the round looks cool, but I don’t think it suits presentations all that well. I also like speaking in auditoriums which raise the audience as it gets further back. I was recently surprised to enjoy having a table to give more elbow room and note-taking options

@MichelePlayfair You’re most welcome! Glad to hear they might be useful.

RT @thatsmyjamstack: No new episode this week (what with the holiday week in the US).
We'll be back next week with a new episode.
If you…

@aexmo New front runner.

@mxbck That's theatre style.

@benpbarnett Yes. It is encouraged that you remove your top hat.

@ppk @Paul_Kinlan Yes. Very true.

@perrysetgo If anyone has shown they have guts, willpower and the determination to overcome adversity, it think it might be you.
More healing to do? I hope you feel the energy being beamed at you from all over the world.
Not least from my little corner of the UK.
Mend fast.
Hurry back.

@atelierschork @Paul_Kinlan Still in a large conference hall. But each row of chairs has a table too. @aneventapart tend to favour this.

@Paul_Kinlan This has been my preference for a long time.
However I recently attended An Event Apart and was surprised at how much I liked the classroom style they used. There are pros and cons for each, I think.

@StuRobson I don't know what this is ...but hope it just adds popcorn

You're going to a conference.
What seating format to you like the most? 🤔

@dave_stewart @WordPress Very cool!

@JacoKoster lol

@SunilUXD @smashingmag That's a good one.
A lot depends on how the events has been scheduled. Allowing for some changeover time and also regular breaks which act as buffers to get you back on track can really help.
Being happy to "get increasingly visible in peripheral vision" can be useful too :)

@TejasKumar_ Sounds like the kind of advice Bill and Ted would give. 🎸✨

I’ve been lucky to MC conferences quite a few times now, so here are some tips and my checklist.
But I’m still learning. I mean, I’m not even sure I know how to write “EmCee”.
Got opinions of your own? I’m all ears in the comments.

@SlexAxton @jeresig I loved all of your albums. Hoping you reunite for one more world tour.
