The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

Although it turns out that that bravado chatter about who out of @sarah_edo and @jlengstorf can make the best burgers on our team offsite pop the screen.

Because I’m not made of stone.
And this is the competition I was born to judge. https://twitter.com/philhawksworth/status/1210966201310044161

A little heads up if you are trying to contact me on Twitter, Slack, email or carrier pigeon...

I’m having a little down time until the new year to recharge and enjoy my lovely friends and family. So excuse the silence. It doesn’t mean I love you any less.

@moo9000 That depends on what you use to generate your site. I use @eleven_ty on a site which gets data from an external source and builds around 900 pages. The build takes less than 6s and entire deploy is ~30s.

The comments site deploys when I moderate a batch of comments via slack.

@gumnos @chriscoyier A JAMstack site might seem reliant
On doing everything in the client
In fact though, it depends on what
Requirements and use-cases you have got
The biggest key though, to remember
Is to serve things statically, and pre-render.

@gumnos @chriscoyier These thoughts make sense, I must agree
Except you really don’t need all three
It’s up to you. For you to choose.
JavaScript’s just an option you might use.
And if you do, success might be
From enhancing things progressively.

Whether feeling overwhelmed, overworked, or a perhaps a bit lonely, people’s perfect highlight reels on social media can make things feel a bit tough today.

With that in mind @SarahMillican75 leads the call for people to #JoinIn with love and support for all. And it’s wonderful.

This episode has sleigh bells (if that’s your thing) and also stories of forgetfulness, and questions about markdown (if that’s more your cup of tea).

A huge thanks to everyone for your lovely support. @Jack_Franklin and I will return with more webby wibbling in the new year. https://twitter.com/fishandscripts/status/1209166964440088576

@seldo You save time twice. By not writing the bugs, and then by not having to fix the bugs. I’m amazed that this approach has not become popular.

@yorksworths @SkySports To me this stinks of “ok, but some racists like football and pay @SkySports subscriptions, so my producers tell me we had better not upset them”

Not good enough from @SkySports.
This is not a debate.
There is a racism problem in this country.

Electing a racist hasn’t helped.

@yorksworths @SkySports Yeah! No idea why there was a need to add such a concession at the end. That’s not good enough. Good on Gary Neville for asking “do you not agree with it, Dave?”

No need for a debate here. We have a racism problem. And we have to stop tolerating it.
