@AndyDavies @StuRobson Yeah, that's right. His blog post of the same name in 2002 was an influence on me. And I've been using his quote in talks advocating for pre-generating sites since 2012. (Although that was before the term #JAMstack came about)

I’ve been frustrated by inheriting the cruft and smells of a monolithic stack in the past.
When that is removed we get the power and the responsibility to make sites which perform appropriately.
I can muck that up with more than JavaScript.

Which is not to say that simply by being a #jamstack site, all our sites will automatically be fast. We get an amazing baseline and the power to not make things slow 🥳.
