A lot depends on how the events has been scheduled. Allowing for some changeover time and also regular breaks which act as buffers to get you back on track can really help.
Being happy to "get increasingly visible in peripheral vision" can be useful too :)

I’ve been lucky to MC conferences quite a few times now, so here are some tips and my checklist.

@simonw Yeah! I was involved in a project to select a CMS around that time. Price tags were approaching ÂŁ1M. Outrageous where we were, given what we now understand. I talk about that a little here.
