Sure, when Churchill gave his “We will fight them on the beaches” speech in 1940 he was trying to give hope and comfort to a desperate nation at a time of unimaginable hardship.
But mostly he was all, “My ratings are just incredible. I’m beating all the other shows. SO GREAT!”
